What is an Off-Grid Solar System?

An off-grid solar system is a standalone rooftop solar setup that operates independently of the electricity grid. It generates and stores its own power, making it ideal for areas with frequent power cuts or locations without access to the grid.

During the day, your solar panels generate electricity to power your home appliances directly, while routing the extra energy to a dedicated battery bank. At night or during cloudy days, your home draws stored electricity from the batteries, ensuring a continuous, self-sufficient power supply.

An off-grid solar system typically consists of:

  • Solar Panels – Capture sunlight and convert it into DC electricity.
  • Solar Inverter / PCU – Converts DC electricity into usable AC power for household appliances.
  • Battery Bank – Stores excess solar energy generated during the day for backup power at night and during outages.
  • Charge Controller – Regulates voltage and current from the panels to protect batteries from overcharging and deep discharge.
  • Mounting Structure & Balance of System (BOS) – Secures the panels and provides necessary wiring, DC/AC distribution boxes, and surge protection.
